Bernie Doyle – Head Hitting Instructor
Coach Bernie Doyle has been giving private hitting/baseball instruction for over 20 years now. He has had many players continue on to play college and professional baseball. Coach Doyle is a member of the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA). He is also a member of the Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association (IHSBCA). In May he was certified in Mike Epstein Hitting in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. Coach Doyle is starting his 5th year as a Scout for the New York Mets. The Mets drafted 2 local high school players in the 2011 MLB draft. Coach Doyle was drafted by the Boston Red Sox Organization out of high school in 1988. He played in the Red Sox Organization for 2 years and then his career was cut short with a leg injury.
Coach Doyle starts his 17th season as the assistant varsity coach at Center Grove High School in Greenwood, Indiana. This is his 22nd overall year of coaching starting at Alma Mater North Newton 90’, Muncie Central 93’, Ben Davis 94’, Penn 95’, and Perry Meridian 96’. His main coaching responsibilities are overseeing the hitting program and working with the outfielders to go along with other basic duties. Coach Doyle takes great pride in helping players continue their baseball careers in college if that is the player’s desire. He was selected to coach in the Indiana North/South All-Star game in 2001
Ryan Richardson – Hitting and Pitching Instructor
Ryan graduated from Center Grove High School in 2001. While at Center Grove Ryan was selected All County and All Metro South. Ryan went on to play for the University of Indianapolis. Ryan was a two year starter and four year letter winner for the Greyhounds. Ryan was awarded the mental attitude award his senior year. After graduating in 2005 Ryan coached one year as an assistant at U of I. The following year Ryan was the head coach for the Center Grove High School summer team. Ryan then held the position of head coach of the 15U Indiana Irish. The following year Ryan was hired to be the Head Freshman Coach at Roncalli High School. The Rebels were 17-6 that year.
Joe Mack – Hitting and Catching Instructor
Joe grew up on the south side of Indianapolis, where he attended St. Jude grade school. Joe was a member of the Roncalli High School sectional champion team in 2004. After transferring to Andrean High School the summer before his junior year, Joe helped Andrean to the school’s first 3A baseball State Championship in 2005.
After graduating high school in 2006, he began his collegiate career at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. After lettering both years he played at BSU, Joe transferred to Northern Kentucky University in Highland Heights, Kentucky before his junior year. Joe finished his college career with two appearances at the NCAA Division II Baseball Regional Championships, as a junior in 2009, and as a senior in 2010.
During his career, Joe saw time at catcher, first base, third base, left field, and designated hitter. Joe is a graduate of IUPUI with a bachelor’s degree in General Studies. Joe was the Varsity Hitting Coach at Roncalli High School for 3 years, and is now entering his second year as the Varsity Hitting and Infield coach at Center Grove High School.
